Welding
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION - WELDING
This program is ideal for students interested in hands-on learning and a high-demand trade that offers competitive wages and career growth opportunities.
The Welding course is a two-year program designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience necessary for a successful career, with opportunities for internships and industry-based field trips.
This program highlights industry safety standards, blueprint reading, metal fabrication, and various welding techniques, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW). Emphasis is also placed on transferable skills such as time management, teamwork, punctuality and professionalism.
Our curriculum follows industry-recognized standards, such as the American Welding Society’s Fundamentals of Welding curriculum, preparing students for certifications.
Course available: Grades 11 - 12
