Animal Science
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION - ANIMAL SCIENCE
The program provides students the opportunity to learn how to care for animals, both at their homes and in veterinary medicine. Students learn the importance of various veterinary procedures and how it ---the care and health of animals. It is a foundational course in veterinary terminology that will prepare students for entry-level positions at a veterinary facility, or other animal-related career.
Course available: Grades 11 - 12
Course length: 2 years
Credits: 5 CTE elective credits; 1.0 English, 1.0 Science; 1.0 Math

COLLEGE CREDITS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Upon successful completion of this program, students may receive college credits pending established procedures. Students may also receive an industry certification pending successful completion of an industry certification exam. All students completing this program and passing the appropriate industry certification exam will receive an endorsed high school diploma.
