PROGRAM DESCRIPTION - AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY

You will be able to diagnose, repair and maintain automobile engines, brakes, electrical systems and suspensions as you complete this program and ‘jump start’ your career in the automotive industry. Students receive work-based experience in our National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATAF) - certified classrooms.

 Students learn how to troubleshoot foreign and domestic vehicles in the areas of engine performance, electrical / brake systems, suspension / steering systems, and heating / air conditioning in a technology-supported environment.

 Opportunities exist to receive college incentives and paid summer internships.  All students are eligible to earn an Automotive Service Excellence certification.

Course available: Grades 11 - 12

Course length: 2 years

Credits: 6 CTE elective credits; 1.0 English, 1.0 Math
