PROGRAM DESCRIPTION - AUTOCAD

AutoCAD is a computer-aided drafting software program that enables the student to create precise 2- and 3-dimensional drawings. AutoCAD is used to create technical drawings electronically. Not only is it used in engineering disciplines but across a wide range of industries. It is used by architects, project managers, engineers, graphic designers, and other professionals. AutoCAD continues to be the most widely used CAD program throughout most of the world. Certification in AutoCAD as well as college credits will be offered. Since we are articulated with Westchester Community College, our syllabus has been aligned with that of Westchester Community College’s CAD I course.

 

Course available:  Grades 11 - 12

Course Length: 2 years

Credits: 5 CTE elective credits; 1.0 English; 1.0 Science; 1.0 Math

*Course must be taken with Pre-Engineering, which determines maximum credits that can be awarded.

COLLEGE CREDITS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Upon successful completion of this program, students may receive college credits pending established procedures.  Students may also receive an industry certification pending successful completion of an industry certification exam.  All students completing this program and passing the appropriate industry certification exam will receive an endorsed high school diploma.  Please see below for college credits and industry certifications available.
