Sound Production

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION - SOUND PRODUCTION

The Sound Production program is focused on the art, science and creative nature of sound recording. Integrating the history, future technologies and business techniques to aid the student in becoming a true professional in the field. It includes the use of the latest professional hardware and software such as Pro Tools, which is known as the industry standard in recording and production houses. The program will touch upon all aspects of sound but specializes in the areas of music, field and post production.  With a high end recording booth and control room, it offers students the opportunity to learn professional techniques for performing and recording music as well as discover and express their own creativity. Not to mention, the student is learning in an environment designed to mimic real world recording and broadcast studios. All of these factors will create a well-rounded student ready to start his or her career in the industry.

Credits: 6 CTE elective credit; 1.0 English; 1.0 Science

COLLEGE CREDITS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Upon successful completion of this program, students may receive college credits pending established procedures.  Students may also receive an industry certification pending successful completion of an industry certification exam.  All students completing this program and passing the appropriate industry certification exam will receive an endorsed high school diploma.  Please see below for college credits and industry certifications available.
